Join Dr. Alejandra Alonso as she speaks about neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer ' s, where plaques of beta-amyloid and tau tangles disrupt neurons. She explains tau ' s vital role in stabilizing microtubules, how pathological tau can spread prion-like toxicity via phosphorylation, and emerging insights into tau ' s functions in signaling, transcription, and protein synthesis.
