McKale Williams student success

Kaitlyn Noelle Beardsley ’ 21 was selected as a recipient of the 2020-2021 Maryland Section of American Chemical Society Award , based on her strong academic performance and her dedication and service to SU . The Maryland Section of the ACS recognized the student award winners in the March-April 2021 edition of Chesapeake Chemist .
In October , Guiliana Datnoff ’ 22 , an Applied Math major , received the annual Susan P . Slattery Scholarship , named in honor of the late Professor Slattery .
Psychology Major Angel Longus ’ 22 coauthored an article with Professor Gary Popoli , Adjunct Professor of Psychology . The article , “ Gender Differences and the Five Facets of Conspiracy Theory ,” was published in the International Journal of Psychological Studies .
The Stevenson University Marching Band was selected to be one of five ensembles featured as a showcase ensemble at the 2022 College Band Directors
National Association ’ s ( CBDNA ) Eastern Division Conference . The showcase is scheduled to take place on Friday , February 18 , 2022 , and will be the kick-off event of the conference .
Communications Studies major Marie- Clare Ofoegbu ’ 22 was selected to represent Stevenson University as a Newman Civic Fellow . The Newman Civic Fellows engage in collaborative action with others from campus or from surrounding communities in order to create long-term social change as well as demonstrate the potential for effective long-term civic engagement .
May 2021 graduate , Legal Studies major , and Mock Trial award winner Jaden Thornton ’ 21 received a full ride to St . John ’ s University School of Law to pursue his dream of becoming a criminal defense attorney .
Mustang men ’ s basketball guard McKale Williams ’ 22 was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches
( NABC ) Division III Student-Athlete Development Coalition . The Student- Athlete Development Coalition features a diverse roster of NCAA Division III men ’ s basketball players who provide direct feedback on a variety of national issues to the NABC . Williams earned Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors last year for the Mustangs , averaging 13.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest .
Congratulations to the students of our Theatre and Media Performance Program , who deserve an extra round of applause for their sold-out performances of Shakespeare ’ s As You Like It in November . It is great to see our students on the stage , performing in front of a live audience .
