Lee Krähenbühl , Ph . D ., Professor and Chair of Communication , wrote the Foreword to Lauren Friesen ’ s book , Theatre , Peace , Justice : Collected Essays Toward a Mennonite Dramaturgy , published by Pandora Press on March 21 , 2024 .
Priscilla Lee , adjunct faculty in the Biomedical Engineering program , was awarded the Northeast Maryland Tech Council ’ s Rising Star award as part of its annual Visionary Awards .
Leeanne Bell McManus , Ph . D ., Professor of Communication , presented her paper , “ Reflection and Re-Engagement in Higher Education : An Administrative Call ,” at the annual conference of the Eastern Communication Association in Baltimore in March . Dr . McManus also served as a respondent in the session “ Currents in Communication Ethics .”
Mark Norris , Ph . D ., attended the annual meeting of the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Ecological Society of America in April at Kutztown University in , Pennsylvania . He presented both a poster of research and participated in a discussion with colleagues from Washington & Jefferson College about their collaborative project exploring the biodiversity in tree canopies .
Biology faculty members , Rivka Glaser , Ph . D ., Samuel Obae , Ph . D ., and Frank Stearns , Ph . D ., presented a poster —“ First Dip in the SEA : Phage Discovery and Genome Annotation at Stevenson University ”— at the 2024 SEA ( Science Education Alliance ) Symposium in April . Their presentation shared the experience of the SEA-PHAGES project in Stevenson ’ s introductory biology laboratory courses during the 2023-2024 academic year .
Dr . Sharon Buchbinder
Dean , Brown School of Business and Leadership 12 Years of Service
A Registered Nurse with a Ph . D . in Health Resources Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago , Sharon joined Stevenson University in 2011 . Shortly thereafter , she was appointed Graduate Program Director for the Master ’ s in Healthcare Management program . Sharon built the curriculum , taught courses , and directly managed the program and its faculty for more than a decade .
In 2019 , she was named Program
Coordinator for Stevenson University Online ’ s undergraduate Business Administration program . Sharon also led development of a campus-based undergraduate Healthcare Management program , which enrolled its first students in 2022 . That same year , Sharon was appointed Dean of the Brown School of Business and Leadership ,
In addition to those accomplishments , Sharon has written multiple best-selling healthcare management textbooks that are used in programs around the world . She is also a creative writer who has published more than 15 novels . As she “ turns the page ” to the next chapter in
her life story , we hope it will be filled with family , friends , love , and laughter .
