1968
Jeanne Zappacosta Kushner received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland College Park and a master ’ s degree in social work ( clinical ) from the University of Maryland , Baltimore . She works in a private practice setting specializing in family , marriage , and individual psychotherapy .
1994
Jennifer Sutherland celebrated the publication of her first book , Bullet Points : A Lyric , in June 2023 , available from River River Books .
2001
Scott Murray received the Loyal Alumni Award at the May 2023 Commencement exercises . Scott is a tax principal for KBST & M , focusing on tax returns and tax related matters . He secured a job at a local accounting firm after graduating from Stevenson University with his Bachelor ’ s in Accounting . He then went on to earn his Master ’ s in Business Administration and pass the CPA exam . Over the years , Scott has remained connected to Stevenson through
2003 his involvement with many committees , including the Alumni Association and the Dick Watts Sports Hall of Fame Board . As an employer , he and his firm make it a priority to provide internships to Stevenson students . He also enjoys visiting campus to watch baseball , soccer , and lacrosse games .
2004
In February 2024 , Candace ( Baker ) Allmond was named Champion of Courage for her positive impact through her work with the Girl Scouts . As the Director of Community Girl initiatives and partnerships with Girl Scouts of Central Maryland , Allmond and her team bring programs and unique opportunities to girls in Title 1 schools in Baltimore .

Congratulations to the following alumni who were inducted into the Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct . 20 for 2023 : Nikki ( Hentz ) Murphy ’ 03 for women ’ s soccer and women ’ s lacrosse ; Kenny Wood ’ 06 for men ’ s basketball ; Matt Waltrop ’ 07 for baseball ; Cat ( Connelly ) Graham ’ 08 for field hockey and women ’ s lacrosse ; Avery ( Moorman ) Gabbard ’ 13 for women ’ s volleyball ; and Peter Green ’ 13 for men ’ s lacrosse . Current men ’ s lacrosse coach and associate athletic director Paul Cantabene was inducted as a contributor , and the 2013 Men ’ s Lacrosse Team was honored as a Team of Tradition . entrepreneurs . She is passionate about design and technology , and is actively involved in the Baltimore technology community as an ecosystem organizer and startup advocate . Recently , she continued the expansion of the Spark Coworking brand by helping launch locations in Kansas , St . Louis , Baltimore , and Arlington . Shervonne remains connected to her alma mater , and in the last decade has served on both the Stevenson University Alumni Association Board and the Board of Trustees .

Lauren Shapiro , formerly of The Bob Lucido Team of Keller Williams , has teamed up with Carole Glick and Linda Seidel , formerly of The Glick * Seidel Team of Long & Foster , to create The Glick * Seidel * Shapiro Team of Long and Foster Real Estate . 2010
Matthew Bramble received the Young Alumni Award at the May 2023 commencement exercises . Dr . Bramble is currently a member of the data sciences faculty at Children ’ s National Hospital , and Assistant Professor of Genomics and Precision Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington , D . C . After graduating from SU , Matthew earned his Ph . D . in Human Genetics from the University of California Los Angeles ( UCLA ) in 2017 . Upon completing his Ph . D ., he was awarded a Fogarty Global Health Fellowship through the NIH to spend one year in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to help build the country ’ s genetic research capacity and better understand the immunological outcomes of Ebola Virus survivors . Since this fellowship , Dr . Bramble has continued to work in the DRC , conducting research efforts to better understand the rare neurological disease Konzo and continuing to help expand the country ’ s research capacity .
