HIGHLIGHTS
Men ’ s Ice Hockey won the 2024 MAC title and advanced to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference ( UCHC ) finals before being dispatched by Utica University . Junior forward Liam McCanney earned his second straight MAC Offensive Player of the Year award , while Junior Ty Outen was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year . Eighth year head coach Dominick Dawes helped the Mustangs to their best season yet , breaking the program ’ s singleseason wins record three times over , and was named MAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career .
Men ’ s Basketball junior forward Cameron Smith was named to the 2023-24 All-Commonwealth Honorable Mention squad . Smith , a repeat selection to the All-Conference team , led the Mustangs in points per game at 13.2 . Starting and playing in all 25 games , he shot 46.5 percent from the field ( 120- 258 ) and sank 24 three-pointers . He also grabbed nearly five rebounds per game and had 41 assists .
Men ’ s Swimming finished in eighth place with a score of 465 points at the 2024 MAC Swimming Championships . Junior Sean Sopko was ninth with a time of 47.59 and won the B final in the 100 free .
Union College and advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament before falling to Tufts University . Grant Zick and Gavin Gossen were named Midfielder and Rookie of the Year respectively , and ten total Mustangs earned All-MAC nods .
This season , two Men ’ s Baseball team members — junior designated hitter Dalton Reinhart and senior utility Ryan Lassiter were named to the second team — were named to the MAC Commonwealth 2024 All-Conference Second Team .
Nathan Williams advanced to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships where he as a second-team All-American in the weight throw . He threw a 18.74 meter ( 61-8.5 ) toss in the second flight , missing the cut for the championship flight by . 11 meters . Williams won the 2024 MAC Championship in the weight throw event and finished 11th overall .
Men ’ s Tennis graduate student , Larry Johnson III , was named Commonwealth Conference Men ' s Player of the Year and earned a spot on the First Team . Johnson III became the program ' s all-time wins leader over spring break with his 87th victory over Oswego . The Mustangs advanced to the Commonwealth Conference championship before falling to Messiah .
Zachary Wilcox won the individual title at the MAC Commonwealth Golf Championship after finishing the tournament at even par — four strokes better than the second-place finishers . Wilcox won MAC Commonwealth Golfer of the Year and Rookie of the Year , and is the third Mustang in program history to win an individual conference title . The Mustangs finished the tournament at + 24 , taking second in the team standings .
Men ’ s Volleyball advanced to the MAC playoffs , but fell to Arcadia in the first round . Junior outside hitter Tim Flanagan was selected as an Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association ( AVCA ). Flanagan and senior setter Justin Novoa were named to the All-MAC Men ’ s Volleyball squad .
Senior Nathan Williams won the hammer throw at the 2024 MAC Men ’ s Outdoor Track and Field Championships , and was named Outstanding Field Performer of the Year . Williams competed at the NCAA Championships in May where he earned First Team All-American honors . He ended his career at Stevenson setting the school record in four throwing events .
Men ’ s Lacrosse won the 2024 MAC Commonwealth Conference title over Eastern University . Earning the NCAA bid , the Mustangs defeated
