DEVELOPING CREATIVE CAREERS AT THE MILL AGENCY

“ fall 2016 , we set out to create an interdisciplinary design center in which students work collaboratively across majors to apply what they ’ ve learned in their classes to real client challenges ,” said Amanda Hostalka , M . F . A ., Vice Provost for Outreach and Dean of the School of Design , Arts , and Communication .

At The Mill , Stevenson students work together to meet their clients ’ needs . From writing press releases and managing media outreach projects , conducting research , preparing and sharing presentations , creating and implementing social media strategies , and designing everything from logos to promotional products — students learn to work together and get the job done for their client .
“ The Mill offers students a unique classroom experience that mirrors the work done in a real-world agency ,” said Leeanne Bell McManus , Professor , Department of Communication . “ Students leave The Mill Agency with a portfolio of work and the skills needed to succeed in the workplace .”
