The Ace of Aces
This spring, men’s volleyball player
Landon Shorts ’19 set a historical re-
cord for himself and his team when
he became the all-time NCAA leader
in all divisions for career service aces.
He registered his 256th career ace
against Widener University on March
1, surpassing the record of 255 held by
UC Santa Barbara’s Evan Patak, who
played from 2004 to 2007. It’s not
the first honor for the senior Busi-
ness Administration major from York,
Pa. In 2018, Shorts was named the
MAC Player of the Year, to the MAC
All-Conference First Team, and to the
MAC All-Conference Academic Team.
“I’m excited and honored to have put
Stevenson’s men’s volleyball team in
the record books,” he said. “Stevenson
has provided me with the opportunity
to play the game that I love at a very
high competitive level.”
