Brett Adams will always be synonymous with the founding years and growth of Stevenson athletics. After 31 years of dedicated service, Brett stepped down in June to pursue a new opportunity as the Deputy Executive Director of the Middle Atlantic Conferences

( MAC). Over three decades, Brett’ s tireless dedication to our athletic programs, unwavering support of student-athletes on the field and in the classroom, and his commitment to Stevenson’ s legacy have left a profound and lasting impact on our institution.
Brett joined Villa Julie College in 1994 as the first full-time athletic director— the same year the Mustangs joined NCAA Division III. At that time, athletics

-Brett Adams included 54 student-athletes across 11 programs. Today, Stevenson proudly supports more than 700 NCAA athletes and 250 club sport athletes across 29 varsity and 13 club sports.
Throughout his career, Brett has consistently gone above and beyond. Alongside his role as Director of Athletics, he served as Head Men’ s Basketball Coach from 1994 to 2011 and Head Men’ s and Women’ s Tennis Coach from 1994 to 1999. To foster continued growth, Brett played a pivotal role in launching the North Eastern Athletic Conference( NEAC), serving as its first Athletic Directors’ Committee Chair and chairing the Executive Committee. He led the transition of Stevenson Athletics from the NEAC to the Capital Athletic Conference, and later to the Middle Atlantic Conferences, where he chaired the Athletic Directors Board from 2018 to 2021. Brett was also instrumental in founding the Continental Volleyball Conference for Men’ s Volleyball, the Colonial Hockey Conference( CHC) for Women’ s Ice Hockey, and the United Collegiate Hockey Conference( UCHC) for Men’ s and Women’ s Ice Hockey.
Brett’ s influence extends across program growth, the development of Mustang Stadium and East Campus, and the proud championship wins of our teams— including the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’ s Lacrosse National Championship, the 2022 AVCA Women’ s Beach Volleyball National Championship, and the 2024 AVCA Men’ s Beach Volleyball Championship. During his tenure, the Mustangs earned 40 NCAA Tournament invitations.
Reflecting on his time at Stevenson, Brett said,“ From day one, I knew the responsibility of my job was to help grow the institution and athletics, while helping students achieve their career aspirations. I’ m proud to have grown Stevenson Athletics into the respected and championship-winning program it is today. And I’ m most proud of the hundreds of Mustang student-athletes whose success we have helped to foster, on and off the field.”
JORDAN HOOVER NAMED NEW DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS
Jordan Hoover, formerly Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations at Catholic University of America, joined Stevenson on October 1 as our new Director of Athletics. Jordan brings a wealth of experience and a strong record of success in collegiate sports operations and administration. Since joining Catholic University’ s Athletic Department in 2019, he was promoted in 2023 to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, overseeing daily athletic department operations, budget management, athletic events, and facilities management of the DuFour Athletic Complex. Jordan also managed capital projects, including renovations of baseball and softball fields and upgrades to Franny Murray Court and the DuFour Athletic Center. He led strategic external partnerships and revenue generation efforts, while serving as sports administrator
