The Kadena Youth Center, open to ages 9 - 12 offers camps, activities, and clubs for all personalities and interests. Clubs are open to all members, and include topics from art to cooking, to Passport to Manhood and SMART girls which are empowering clubs teaching youth essential life skills. M onthly activities are offered both within the facility and off base, giving youth a fun, positive place to build friendships, and also experience the culture of Okinawa. Triple Play with Healthy Snack Fridays in September • 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm | Free Join us for a heart pumping activity with a healthy snack once we fi nish. Torch Club 7 & 21 September • 4 pm | Free Kids will work together to implement activities in four areas: service to club and community, education, health and fi tness and social recreation. Recognition & Birthday Celebration Friday, 1 September • 5 pm | Free Let’s recognize our Outstanding Youth of the Month, and celebrate youth birthdays for the month with ice cream. We’ll also welcome new youth and say farewell to those PCSing. Art Club 11, 18 & 25 September • 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm | Free The main focus of Art Club is to build youth knowledge, skills and creativity through art. Some activities may include projects, contests, exhibitions and fi eld trips. STEM Club 5, 12, 19 & 26 September • 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm | Free STEM Club is for the Youth to challenge their brains and push the limits of their imagination. Pre-registration is required. Passport to Manhood 16 & 20 September • 4 pm - 4:30 pm | Free This program creates and nurtures, positive value, responsible resolution and healthy relationship. Members will learn essential attitudes, values and skills that they will need to become responsible young men. Cooking Club 5 & 19 September • 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm | Free Sign up for our Cooking Club for Youth to learn proper used of utensils, basic measurement and new recipes that they can apply at home. Pre-registration is required. Culture Club 13 & 27 September • 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm | Free Learn about different activities, culture, and food around the world. Pre-registration is required. SMART Girls Club 6 & 20 September • 3:30 pm - 4 pm | Free SMART Girls Club helps build foundations for healthy attitudes and lifestyles by equipping members with critical knowledge and life skills. Pre-registration is required. Book Club Monday, 18 September •3 pm - 4 pm | Free The youth will have an opportunity to take trips to the library and discuss the books they are reading. The more they read, the more chance to win prizes! Fitness Club 14 & 28 September • 3 pm - 4 pm | Free Come together and learn how to eat healthy and work out all while having a good time. Girls Night Friday, 22 September • 6:30 pm - 9 pm | Free A night for the girls to get together and have fun while doing hair, nails, watching movies, and just hanging out! Youth Center trips, activities and clubs are open only to members ages 9 to 12.
