Ikebana Flower Arranging
7 , 14 & 21 October • 11 am - noon $ 50 • Three sessions Ikebana is more than just flower arranging , it is a disciplined Japanese art form in which the flower arranger strives to bring nature and humanity together . Movie on the Lawn
Friday , 20 October • 6:15 pm Enjoy a feature presentation on the lawn next to USO Kadena . We ’ ll be showing The Nightmare Before Christmas and giving away prizes plus free snacks while supplies last . Don ’ t forget to bring chairs or blankets and be ready for an exciting night !

Every Wednesday • 10:30 am Listen to stories and participate in activities that promote a love of books and reading that help develop language skills . Story Time is for kids ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers .
Book Costume Contest
1 - 31 October Get ready for a ghoulishly good time at the Kadena Base Library ! Pick up a book from our Swap Shelf , create a costume for your book and return it by Sunday , 22 October for voting . The winners will be announced on Halloween !
Spooktacular Stories
Tuesday , 31 October • 10:30 am Gather your ghouls and goblins and sneak on over to the library for a spooktacular time of stories , songs and shrieks of fun ! Costumes are optional , but having a scary amount of fun is a must !

We are always looking for providers to support the Expanded Child Care programs , as well as PCS and Volunteer Care . We are recruiting providers to care for children with special needs and other impairments . Our certified providers offer care full and part time , on weekends , after scool , by the hour , under subsidy and for extended duty . Give Parents a Break is designed to provide child care to active duty Air Force families with deployed or TDY spouses and those with special hardships . Sign up to take advantage of this great resource , and give yourself a break !
