We are shutting down the shop to give you and your
family a day of fast fun at the races. Kadena Auto
Hobby is hosting the fi rst annual Derby Day and Car
Show. To top it all off, Oki Ohana will be there fi lling
the air with the delicious aromas of their excellent
food. Think you have the perfect formula to beat the
rest? Stop by Kadena Auto Hobby or Arts & Crafts to
register. Derby cars can be purchased at Kadena Arts
& Crafts. Immediately following the derby races, check out the
classics, rods, and rides that Okinawa has to boast.
Awards will be given to the crowd favorite and the
judges’ favorite. Winners will be announced after the
votes are tallied and will receive a unique plaque and
an FSS Gift Card!

Are you new to the island and in the

Police Desk, near the Banyan Tree Club.

Keep Your Cool(ant) • Use the Penny Trick
Check the tread on your tires using a penny! As
typhoon season approaches and heavy rain is more
likely, the roads will get slippery. Put a penny into
your tire’s tread with Lincoln’s head upside down,
facing you. If you can’t see any of his head, you’re
good to go! If you can, your tires are tired. Time for
replacements! Properly infl ated tires with suffi cient
tread will lessen the likelihood of slipping and sliding.
It also ensures you are getting the best gas mileage
for your car!
