Funny you ask, the title of our EP is actually a lyric from the track “So Longest Goodbye”. C a n y o u t a l k t o u s m o r e a b o u t y o u r l a t e s t s i n g l e " S o L o n g G o o d b y e " ? So Long Goodbye is probably our most emotional song and it’s very meaningful to the band. It’s the last song we wrote for the EP. When we wrote the instrumental we knew this song had to make a big impact lyrically. The title is metaphorical and literal. Literally it represents the long drive we had from MN to NY to record the EP and metaphorically it represents the long drive to success. The main meaning in the song is about leaving old habits and people you may love, to follow your dreams. We wanted to capture the emotion of just how hard it is having to leave someone you still care about behind. When something is holding you back it’s easy to overlook all the miracles this world can offer. H o w w a s t h e r e c o r d i n g a n d w r i t i n g p r o c e s s ? The writing process for this EP happened over about a year. We wrote around 1 5 songs, refined them and played them live, and switched them up until we landed on the 5 that we recorded. Initially we record the demos ourselves in our studio at home. This is probably the most crucial part of our writing process because it allows us to hear and critique ourselves before we get into the studio. We traveled to NY and recorded at Nada Recording Studio with our boy John Naclerio. He was so professional and fun, we know that he had a very positive influence on this record. We cannot wait to record our full length with him.
