Traditional Hardware or Houdini Hardware TM ?
Traditional hardware is the term used for standard “ barn door ” installation hardware . The door hangs from a metal rail mounted on the wall and 100 % of the weight of the door is supported from this rail . The rail and door rollers are visible , and are available in a variety of roller designs and in 2 finishes — black and stainless steel .
Houdini hardware is completely hidden from view . No wallmounted rail is necessary . The weight of the door is 100 % on the floor , as wheels are mounted on the bottom of the door . A support track is mounted on the upper backside face of the door , and this track follows a wall mounted support that keeps the door upright and attached to the wall .
The door offerings in this catalog each note if Traditional or Houdini hardware may be used .
