fishBOL - The Physics of Music
fishBOL began as an experiment, a project and an art by Fred Dator. He set up a home recording studio in 2009; wrote and recorded five songs by himself; playing guitar (both rhythm and solos), bass, keys and using electronic drum samples. That recording spawned the EP entitled Soup No. 5 in F#m and was released as a digital download on iTunes and other digital download stores. Along with that release, he produced his first music video for the song Massive Waste Of Energy which was directed by Butchoy. The following year, he recorded a full-length album simply entitled the fishBOL Project (wherein the name of the facebook band page was taken). It has twelve tracks, among them was the Devil Made Me Do It and Imagical. In 2011, he again recorded and released another full-length album (digitally) entitled Mutual Induction wherein the songs Love and Magnus Stimulus was included. Then in 2012 an idea of releasing a physical copy of fishBOL music came and with the influence of the resurgence of vinyl records he thought of releasing Thermionic Emission in orange vinyl. In December 2012, Thermionic Emission was released and distributed by CD Baby. fishBOL music became available to a wider audience and because of that--- live performance opportunity happened. He then
recruited another electronic musician Ethan Slaughter (aka Cosmic Cairns) for bass duties and Dian Dimov for drums. The trio performed their first gig at Hard Rock Cafe on March 8, 2013. Since then, fishBOL (the band) can be seen performing on various venues here in the Las Vegas area. Aside from Hard Rock, they performed several times at Zia Records’ Eastern store, Aloha bar and Blind Tiger to name a few. They performed and got interviewed on radio at KLAV for the Ambassadors of Hospitality show. Another thing also happened in 2013, the fishBOL APP for both Apple and Android was released. This app can be downloaded for FREE! The fishBOL electronic machine will never stop..it just got started. More plans for the coming year or years...... By the way, did you already have a fishBOL Electronic Experience?

“The title, ‘Thermionic Emissions’ is a term I came across while teaching Physics for the Radiography class. It means emitting x-rays upon leaving the machine. My songs will be like shooting x-rays—in this case, they’re like shooting sounds in your ears.”
