Joey Ugarte Inducted into the Las Vegas Entertainer's Hall of Fame

(Las Vegas, NV, USA) Joey Ugarte recently was inducted into the "Las Vegas Entertainer's Hall of Fame" for "Lounge Act" in recognition of his many contributions to the 1970's era.

Ugarte's introduction to the lights of Las Vegas came when David White, a performer in the Lido Show at the Stardust, Joey on congas in the Copeland Davis Band, in Miami, FL. David told Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal, the entertainment director at the Stardust, about the band. Frank brought the band to Las Vegas in the Stardust Lounge for a very successful 2 year run.

Around the same time, Burt Reynolds saw the band and booked them on the Johnny Carson Show which he was hosting.

Ugarte went on to perform with Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds at the Sands and the Desert Inn, Vince Cardell at the MGM Lounge, the De Castro Sisters many Lounges on the Strip. His last performance with these beautiful Cuban girls was the Grand Closing Performance for the Sliver Slipper Casino.

Ugarte also performed for Fred Epcot in his show "Bad Touch of Vegas" at the Marina Hotel and Casino. He had the pleasure of working with Joe Williams and the UNLV Symphony Orchestra and with the Henry Mancini Orchestra in the “Night of the Stars” at the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino, backing up many great entertainers.

Now Joey and his highly experienced band “Joey Ugarte and the Jazz Vibrations” are bringing back the timeless sounds of mainstream Jazz, Classic Jazz, Brazilian and Latin Jazz for a new generation of listeners. The next performance of this renowned and world class act will be this spring at Lake Las Vegas.

This five piece band has many years of experience and awards. They have performed in Las Vegas and internationally. Members of the band include; Cocho Arbec - keyboards, Ryan Rose - drummer, Fred Watstein – bassist, Steve Johnson - saxophone and various female guest singers. The band's website is:
