A lot of entertainers are obsessively self-absorbed, always putting their own needs first, having poor empathy or appreciation for other people’s needs and ignore helping hands. They forget that helping each other, especially in today’s entertainment climate, is the key to success. It strikes me as odd when someone wraps themselves up in a cocoon and isolating themselves. It flies in the face of success. They do so with the idea that if they help someone else in the industry that they will somehow loose so the jealously guard themselves and their knowledge from others. I, for one, think that is balderdash and just plain silly!
As one friend said to me when we asked him to open a show for us, “friends help each other”! Fortunately there are entertainers here in Las Vegas who understand that this is a community and we should all be helping each other.
