Hello, and welcome to the July/August 2014 issue of Veg Table Recipe Journal. This issue is all about mid summer produce, like juicy heirloom tomatoes, crisp summer beans, sweet corn, and bright colored peppers. We have some great recipes to share with you. For instance, in our “Fresh Feature” section (all about veggie tacos and burritos), we have a terrific recipe, Corn and Zucchini Flautas with Salsa Verde, which utilizes so many great mid summer produce items. My favorite section though, hands down, is “Kids in the Kitchen; Making Smoothies and Shakes”. One of my favorite all time recipes, Mango-Coconut-Cinnamon Smoothie, is featured here. I guarantee kids, and adults alike, will love it. Of course it wouldn’t be summer without ice cream. Check out our Caramel Peach and Honeyed Pecan Ice Cream Sundae, your sure to love it!
