Every morning, while driving through Kochi’s clogged roads, he scans for children working in shops or begging for a living. “I photograph them,” says Murugan, who has a costly digital camera, a gift from one of his many fans. “Then I lodge a complaint with the nearest police station.” Over the past six years, Murugan has rescued more than 2,000 children from different parts of the city.
