RUNNING AND TRIATHLON Running is a great way to meet people and keep fit at the same time. Many campus’ Sports Clubs use the weekly running club sessions as fitness training for students wanting to stay on top of their game. Running also provides a great launch pad into Triathlon offered in KZN and Gauteng, and Obstacle Course Racing offered at the Waterfall campus. These multi-disciplined events create great comradery when students combine with other Sports Club members in the team events. This means students don’t have to be proficient or experienced as individuals to participate. Trail running offers students the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful lan dscapes our country has to offer, with the club catering for both beginners and more seasoned runners. Experienced and social runners (both road and trail) are encouraged to join the Varsity College Running Club on STRAVA, the online mobile fitness tracking app, where you can compete against members from your own campus club or with students from around the country. Weekly and monthly prizes are up for grabs making it both fun and competitive at the same time. 11
