Varsity College was founded over 25 years ago, and today
enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private
tertiary education in South Africa. We have modern,
state-of-the-art, easily accessible campuses in Sandton,
Pretoria, Waterfall (Midrand), Cape Town, Port Elizabeth,
Durban North, Westville and Pietermaritzburg.
Degrees, diplomas and higher certificates are offered
by The IIE on the Varsity College campuses. The IIE has
established academic partnerships with international
institutions, such as The Open University (OU) of the
United Kingdom and the International College of Hotel
Management (ICHM) of Australia.
Our teaching philosophy of ‘Quality Teaching for Quality
Learning’ is a progressive approach to higher education
that aims to make academic life as interesting and
participative as possible. Learning, we believe, is a dynamic
two way exchange. Our unique, collaborative approach
means you get to participate actively in your studies,
engage with subject material, build understanding and
develop critical thinking. Our academic track record
demonstrates that this approach is working – our current
national average pass rate is 82% with 20% of those who
pass achieving distinctions. Our dropout rate is lower than
18% – impressive when you consider that the national
dropout rate average for all higher education institutions
is over 40%.
