Suicide King Squonk Mod by Purge - £479.99 The Suicide King is a genuinely impressive bit of kit. By all accounts it is functionally one of the better squonk mods out there. But that alone does not justify the price. Much of the Suicide King’s appeal lies in its design. The beautiful navel brass body is engraved with artwork by Matthew Hagermann. It’s also a limited edition line of just 500, which is always a handy justification to hike up the price. Avid Lyfe Custom Setups by Avid Lyfe - £694.99 Okay, this is actually a pretty cool idea. You essentially build your own mod using a mixture of materials and finishes including gold-plating, copper, black-anodised aluminium and white rhodium. It’s a mech mod so you’d think that potential customers would be sufficiently well-versed to decide whether it’s good value for money or just something nice to show off to fellow vapers. Duke SX Stabwood Edition Box Mod by Vicious Ant - £799.00 As the ‘duke’ in its name would suggest, this mod is all about class and sophistication. With its sleek marble design, it wouldn’t look out of place on the armrest of a Chesterfield sofa in a rich gentleman’s drawing room. Contrary to their appearance, Stabwood mods are actually really light, which is a plus for some but many vapers would prefer something that feels a bit more solid. SX350J Dual 18650 Squonker by Magic Valley Vapors - £1,610.16 This is currently in development so we don’t yet know how it’ll perform or exactly what the finished product will look like, but the digital preview image is a thing of beauty. It looks like an intricate puzzle box that, with the right movements, opens up to reveal a magnificent, sparkling jewel. It’s like the vape equivalent of a Fabergé egg, and at only a fraction of the cost. Limited Edition Cubic Zirconia-Embedded dotBling Mech Mod by dotMod - $1,850 (£1,301.03) 24k gold-plated or 925 Sterling silver-plated, depending on your model of choice, the dotBling more than lives up to its name. The selling point, of course, is the cubic zirconia stones – 1,232 of them ‘hand set by a skilled jeweller over three days.’ Pure bling for the spoiled prince in your life. Custom diamond-encrusted Shisha Sticks Sofia by Shisha Sticks - £550,000 If your loved one wants to quit smoking and take up ‘having hundreds of two-carat crystal-clear diamonds’, why not follow an anonymous Russian billionaire’s lead and commission a custom-made 24-karat gold, diamond- encrusted e-shisha pipe? According to Anthony Mixides of Shisha Sticks they ‘were told that, within reason, money was no object’, which is ironic given the complete lack of reason that justified the commission in the first place.
