REVIEW BY JAMES PARNELL X-PRIV SPECS: Size: 45mm x 89mm x 28mm Display: 0.96” OLED Start up speed: <0.1S Wattage range: 5-220W Temperature control range: 100℃-315℃/200F-600F Output modes: VW(H/N/S), CCW, CCT, VT(NI,TI,SS), TCR(M1,M2), RTC, BYPASS DESIGN 9/10 BUILD QUALITY 10/10 USABILITY 10/10 OH, IT’S THE REVENGER KIT AGAIN… NO WAIT, IT’S NOT. Opening the box, I thought Vaporesso had resent me the Revenger kit. But on closer inspection, this is the upgrade. Changes to the appearance are very minimal other than the function buttons on the front of the device which have been replaced with a touch screen. Don’t worry. The device has an automated lock function to prevent unwanted alterations. All other aspects such as size and shape are exactly the same to its predecessor, which I’m happy about as the design of the revenger is very slick. The design still features the in-mould labelling (IML) casing on the front, which is great for screen clarity but paired with the touch screen system it has some problems. Firstly, the screen is prone to smudges, which is a pain when you must touch it to use it. Secondly, in darker settings the touch screen indicators are barely visible. Another big change that comes with the Revenger X is the vibration. Every touch of the screen comes with a subtle buzz like that of a phone. While this seems like an unnecessary addition, it works perfectly with the touch screen so there’s no second guessing on the amounts of presses you have done. This vibration is adjustable in an eight-tier setting. Enough about looks, the Revenger has an upgrade. It now comes with the upgraded OMNI board 2.2, which sees certain imperfections that were found with the Revenger kit being patched. The screen layout and menu pre-set are still identical to the Revenger kit too, featuring all the same output modes which are great but extra system set menus. The wattage power is responsive and heats up very close to the 220W without glitches. To get the most out of this, power tanks other than the NRG mini would need to be used. This is easily done due to the wide 28mm surface area around the 510 pin at the top. Paired with the NRG mini tank, the kit provides impressive flavours with a variety of coils at disposal. The tank provides good vapour with only a slight resistance due to the long airflow vents on the base of the tank. 2ML CAPACITY 47MM 23MM HEIGHT DIAMETER Overall the kit is excellent, although very similar to the Revenger kit. The improvements made are subtle but definitely important if you like to ramp up the wattage on the mod as there is now no delay from the chipset trying to catch up. I am personally impartial to the interface changes and the new touch screen – some prefer buttons, some like touch screens – that doesn’t matter. If you don’t have a Revenger kit I would invest as it’s a brilliant kit capable of a wonderful vape experience. Thumbs up for the Revenger 2.0. VM16 | 161
