N F E R REVIEWS H Mango Indian Special Blueberry Fruity Candy Percentage used and VG/PG ratio of mix: 3.5% at 70/30 Percentage used and VG/PG ratio of mix: 3% at 70/30 Mango is one of the most popular flavour profi les in e-liquid and yet it has always been tough to mix correctly. Most offerings are potent and present some unforgiving off notes or dominant flavours that aren’t always desirable. Enter Mango Indian Special. This is a bright and sweet soda-style mango that tastes excellent at a wide range of percentages in the mix and scales nicely, whether you want it to be the star of the show or a light accent. Expect a lot of new mango e-liquids to come to market in the very near future, because this one’s a winner. There’s always room for more blueberry flavourings, since it’s such a complex aroma and many of the currently available options need help to work in bolder mixes. Blueberry Fruity Candy lives up to its name partially with a pleasant candy sweetness and mouthfeel but it also delivers substantial florals and earthy notes that give this flavouring a more natural connotation overall. This is quite close to being a complete all-in-one blueberry but funnily enough it actually works best to add authenticity to a candy blueberry mix which uses a sweeter blueberry. Mango Fruity Juicy Rhapsody Percentage used and VG/PG ratio of mix: 3.5% at 70/30 Percentage used and VG/PG ratio of mix: 2% at 70/30 Another new mango from Flavour Art. While this is certainly a pleasant flavour, I feel the name is misleading in this case. There are some mango connotations to be found here but for the most part I’m picking up citrus notes, predominantly lime, at any percentage. I feel this concentrate is best used as an accent to fruit or beverage mixes that need some extra zest and tropical sweetness. Treat this as a tropical enhancer rather than a mango cornerstone. Part of Flavour Art’s blended tobacco range, Rhapsody is certainly an interesting flavouring. This one has an intense woody flavour, along with some light golden tobacco and moderate herbal notes. There could be a little fruit in here too, but this may also just be the inherent sweetness of the tobacco. There’s a lot going on here and it may not be for everyone but it can be a useful tool for creating intricate tobacco mixes. Blueberry Juicy Ripe Percentage used and VG/PG ratio of mix: 3% at 70/30 Another new blueberry from Flavour Art. This is quite different from Blueberry Fruity Candy. The easiest way to describe this flavouring is that it’s absolutely spot on to the flavour of blueberry juice, from the mild sweetness, to the earthiness and moderate bitterness on the fi nish. This is one of the most complete blueberry additives I’ve tried to date and will immediately add depth and authenticity to any berry mix which is lacking those qualities. Again, I do not see this as a standalone blueberry but it will be a very useful tool for advanced mixers. 200 VM26
