EVENTS By Patrick Griffin THE WORLD SERIES OF VAPING M I AM I 2016 The World Series of Vaping Miami 2016 was a particularly pleasant event to cover. For a start the choice of venue - Miami Airport Convention Center - was ideal as it meant the airport, our hotel and the conference venue were all in the same locality. We arrived a day early to set up and orientate ourselves and the first thing that struck us right away was how friendly everyone, and I mean everyone, was at this event. I know it is a cliche to say that Americans are friendly to visitors, but this went considerably further than that. Nothing was too much trouble to anyone and the events staff were always happy and smiling. They genuinely wanted to help all the exhibitors and visitors with any problems or queries they had. Topics such as advocacy, vaping regulations, FDA rules and the TPD in Europe were all discussed. It was great to see the Florida Smoke Free Association (FSFA) at the event and to be able to learn about of some of the outstanding work that it does for the industry. “This event had a very good mix of vendors from some of the biggest names in the industry to intermediate and smaller vaping companies.” The FSFA is a non-profit organisation which promotes the interests of the vaping industry in Florida and it was good to learn that it signed up new members during the three day event to help make its voice louder and stronger. Not only does the group promote advocacy, it actively participates in dialogue with the public, vendors, media
