F E AT U R E hen Vapouround asked me to write them a recurring column I thought… Well, if nothing else, at least the Vape Community will see that Vape Models do in fact have more going on up between their ear Then they asked me to make it an Opinion Column and I thought, well there goes people liking me in this industry. A Vape Model with an opinion, here we go guys, hang on tight! about anything beyond which body part I should be using to hold my mod you ask? To clear things up, I do not, nor have I ever participated in the whole stereotypical “Vape Model” type of modeling. I did not begin taking pictures using Instagram as my agency. I have been modeling for clothing companies, the tattoo industry, promotionally, etc for the last 5 years. Not only that but I have only ever used modeling as a direct channel for my actual goals in Marketing. I am currently the Director of PR for Buckshot Vapors Inc. and I handle all angles of Public Relations and Marketing for the company. I have worked as a professional Director level Marketing Manager for different companies and industries for the past 5 years. That said, keeping up with market trends is a huge part of whether or not I am successful in my position. That however, is not always an easy job in the “Vape Space.” The Electronic Cigarette or Vape Industry changes as fast as you can change your chonies… maybe faster. For those of you who have been around for quite some time, you know trends have ranged and changed in just about every area of the constantly evolving market that we call Vaping. Remember when it was routine to see High End Mods all over Facebook with X1 in the comments for miles and how waiting lists for that product were actually created like that? Remember when 26650’s had their brief time in the spotlight? How about when tube mods were more popular than box mods? Or before sub-ohm tanks were in existence and owning a kay-fun was a must… building the damn thing is a whole different right of passage story. So what’s my point? Well the whole premise of an opinion column is to share yours, so without further ado let’s talk about the way that E-Liquid has changed in the past few months and dare I say it… Yep, let’s talk about how regulations have changed the economics of the E-Liquid market in that time frame. If you were expecting a highly feminist fueled rant about how Models can do adult things too… this isn’t the article for you…. I wrote that two issues ago, keep up. E-Liquid has always had a range of levels to choose from for each level of the economy. There was “House Juice” usually made by your local Vape Shop eliminating margins from reselling a product and in most cases (don’t get your panties in a pinch if your shop happens to have a magical ISO made in a less technical environment and using cheaper materials (again… just STOP if you happen to be one the handful of shops using fancy smancy larger companies which makes the price more appealing for those on a budget. Mid-range E-Liquid lines that may have used larger bottles at a lower price as their marketing push, the line is not as well known but still of decent quality than some of the premium lines. Finally there were Premium E-Liquid lines… they came in glass bottles, they have labs, quality management systems, VAPOUROUND MAGAZINE USA 39
