EVENTS
By Stephen Tarpey
June 10-12th saw the return of the
annual event – the World Vapor Expo
in Miami. The event which is organised
by Steve Gerstein, Mark Evans Sr and
his son Mark Evans Jr has for the last
few years been one of the highlights of
the vaping calendar, with a lot of people
thinking it only second to the ECC in
California. We chose this for the soft
launch of Vapouround USA, our latest
publication. I would like to take this time
to thank the organisers of the show for
letting us launch at the show.
You were a great help. Thank you so
much, we at Vapouround look forward
to working with you in the future.
Having never been to this show, we were
excited to attend. The hype surrounding
it from last year certainly made us feel
118 VAPOUROUND MAGAZINE USA
this was the ideal location for the launch
of the new magazine. We were not
disappointed; Miami is truly one of the
most beautiful locations I have had the
chance to visit. I think it felt more special
because we managed to take a large
contingent of our crew along. We also
welcomed a new member aboard the
Vapouround Crew, our first American
member Julie Henderson, who
is heading up sales for the
US magazine. Also as is the
Vapouround way, we managed to
catch up with some of our good
friends at the show. Of course a
few cheeky drinks were sipped
after… just to be sociable.
The show was highly organised
and the venue was well chosen.
The hall was kitted out with
carpets, giving the impression of
a high class affair. The first day
got underway with a B2B session,
and as is customary lots of free
gifts were there to be handed
out to entrants. As the weekend
progressed, the atmosphere
turned into more of a party vibe
as the dancing robots turned up.
The crowd too, got really involved
in the show giving the event a
real buzz.
This show also allowed plenty
of space for the advocacy groups and
allowed them to take the stage to deliver
the all-important message of supporting
vaping in these very difficult times as
we come under threat from the
powers in charge.
Al in all this was a very successful show
and I would like to congratulate the
organisers on all of their efforts.
