Both Biden and vice president Kamala Harris have expressed their intention to ‘ follow the science ’ when enacting policy . This is theoretically good news for vaping which has , time and time again , been proven to be a less harmful alternative to smoking .
But US studies are often interpreted differently to those in the UK , one example being the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health ( PATH ). The findings from this research have been used to justify flavour bans on the back of a ‘ youth vaping epidemic ’ which most experts in the UK consider to be overblown .
