Vape taxes and flavour bans are two of the most highly controversial topics in the industry , especially as they become ever more popular with regulators and lawmakers .
The previous feature in this edition looked at vape taxes and here we spotlight some of the latest developments in the state of play of flavour bans in the US .
When either of these measures are put forward , regulators almost always say that they are acting in order to protect children from the horrors of vaping and seem to ignore all the evidence that supports the contention that vaping is not a gateway into tobacco .
What is beyond debate though , is that punitive taxes and banning flavours both have the effect of preventing smokers from switching to vapers and encouraging vapers or dual users to revert to smoking .
Here is a look at some of the flavour bans which are currently in existence in the USA .
