EQUAL RIGHTS PLEDGE
BAT ’ S CBD LAUNCH
British American Tobacco has piloted a new CBD vaping device the VUSE CBD Zone , ahead of a possible national roll out later this year . The device is initially being sold in convenience stores in Manchester and is part of the company ’ s goal of launching products “ beyond nicotine .” BAT UK & Ireland general manager Fredrik Svensson , said : “ CBD vaping is a new category for us , and we will be using this pilot launch to gain key learnings about consumer and retailer experiences .” VUSE CBD Zone comes in 50mg and 100mg strengths in mint , mango , and berry flavours .
The Canadian Vape Association says it will challenge any regulation that prevents vapers from accessing harm reduction products . It wants national and local governments to accept that the liberties of vapers and nonsmokers are equal , stressing that “ vaping policy must respect the rights of all citizens as the lives of adult smokers quite literally depend on it .” The move comes as it was revealed that flavour bans and nicotine strength restrictions could breach the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms .
YES WE CANN
The Cannabis Council of Canada ( C3 ) has partnered with a selection of leading cannabis companies in a collaborative effort to introduce a nationwide vape recycling scheme . The program is set to hit over 200 retailers across British Columbia , Alberta and Ontario and will help consumers dispose of their hardware in a safe , conscious way . C3 President George Smitherman said : “ This initiative signals an important step in developing shared solutions so that the industry can meet stewardship responsibilities on a collective basis .”
A MILLION TIMES NO
Plans to ban flavoured e-liquid in California have been put on hold following a submission for a referendum signed by more than a million signatories . The law , approved last year by the California Legislature , is now suspended until late 2022 when voters will decide whether to repeal the ban . The petition to hold a referendum was submitted by the California Coalition for Fairness . See feature “ A sad state of affairs - US flavour ban round up .”
SMOORE GOOD NEWS
THE 6AM STRAWBERRY CONUNDRUM
When a long-established client of heating technology vape brand FEELM asked a seemingly simple question , it set off a complex chain of events both in China and overseas . Flavour experts and scientists were part of a 700-strong team perfecting the optimal flavours that FEELM ’ s trademark ceramic coils could bring out in its closed pod devices . CEO Frank Han said that one question had driven the company ’ s ethos to get the taste of its products exactly right . And the question ? “ Could FEELM ceramic coils bring back the taste of California strawberry at 6am with flavoured e-liquid ?”
FEELM ’ s parent company Smoore has become the first in the Chinese atomisation industry to be granted a prestigious AEO Advanced Certificate . The accreditation is highly exclusive , with just 0.22 percent of registered Chinese enterprises holding certification . Among other benefits , it will allow 30 percent faster customs clearance times on international shipping , thereby hugely reducing the logistics costs . The certificate acts as a “ VIP Pass ” for international distributors and the Chinese government has already established mutual AEO agreements with over 40 countries , with a further 20 in development .
