HOW FAKE PRODUCTS CAUSE GENUINE CONCERNS
As counterfeit vaping products continue to pour into the market , it becomes increasingly vital for consumers to authenticate their devices .

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery , but when it comes to e-cigarettes , counterfeit goods could spell serious trouble for users .
US Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) officers , in conjunction with the FDA , recently seized a shipment of fake vaping products at the Fort Worth Airport in Dallas .
Over 33,000 items valued at $ 720,000 were seized upon arrival from China , all of which were en route to various Texas counties .
The shipments included vaping goods that resembled Puff Bar products , a brand that has already received calls from the FDA to remove its flavoured disposable e-cigarettes from the market .
In a continued effort to intercept fake and potentially harmful e-cigarettes , customs officers and FDA agents have come together to sniff out goods that don ’ t meet US safety regulations . “ Many counterfeit , unapproved or unauthorized products are likely produced in unregulated facilities with unverified ingredients , posing a serious health concern to consumers ,” said CBP Port Director Timothy Lemaux .
