apka’s Flava began in 2016 when owner, Goran, who’d
been vaping since 2015, became bored of one-note
e-liquid flavours and decided that he wanted to literally
mix things up on the scene.
He says: “I decided that it’s a bit boring to just vape something
like strawberry or blueberry, so I started mixing. I was also trying
to do something that nobody else had on the market in Germany:
the cooling effect.”
Putting his signature ‘cooling effect’ into three e-liquids – Thorn,
Red Death and Mythoclast – with results that he was sure would
become a hit, Kapka’s Flava was born.
“People just liked it, they liked my stuff more and more and I knew
I had to bring new stuff on the market, so the Kapka’s line has
grown bigger and bigger,” Goran says.
This growth has seen Kapka’s build up an impressive arsenal of
flavours, with tastes for every palate in mind – from fruits, to
desserts and even booze-infused puddings – Goran has continued
to innovate and explore unusual flavour combinations.
So popular are his flavours, in fact, that some of his once-limited-
edition creations have become permanent additions to his ever-
growing product line. Enter: Cold Heart, with pomegranate and
sour lemon and Storm, mixing vanilla ice cream and syrup.
“Every time, when I brought some new stuff out, people asked me
about these flavours, so I decided to give up their limited edition
status and make them serial products. So, Storm and Cold Heart
are now available forever,” Goran says.
Every single Kapka’s flavour has been thought up and mixed by
Goran himself, keeping his team small and his flavour department
even smaller, which has earned him an enviable reputation.
He says: “There is no one else coming here and telling me that
they have a new idea; the flavours are just from me. Like with my
cooling effect, nobody else [in Germany] had it.
“My other big thing was the Drunken Pudding flavour; nobody
had a pudding with rum inside, but I created it and, now, other
companies have said they could do it also. I’m one of the most
copied flavourists in Germany.”
Kapka’s is certainly a small and mighty brand, producing half a million
10ml concentrates for the German market annually, as well as having
a presence in France, Italy and Spain. Given this popularity of Goran’s
flavours, he’s also started accepting outside projects – putting his
mixing skills to work for other brands, who can then sell his flavours
under their name. These projects are certainly set to push Kapka’s to
greater heights, as Goran is booked solid for the next two years on
what he describes as “flavourising” for outside companies. And his
next goal? Conquering the UK market, of course.
