N F E R REVIEWS H FIND S TRIO By Benedict Jones Specifi cations: - Dimensions: 92.2mm*35.9mm*17mm - Weight: 60g - Battery capacity: 1200mAh internal cell - Power output: 6W-23W (dependent on coil and cell voltage) - E-liquid capacity: 3ml/2ml (TPD edition) - Charging: Micro-USB Hardware manufacturer Voopoo is best known for its high performance box mods but it was only a matter of time before it entered the starter kit market. The Find S Trio is its take on an AIO system, so how does it stack up in such a competitive bracket? Construction, fi t and fi nish is good but imperfect and the chassis appears to be a combination of aluminium and polycarbonate. The body has a two tone look, the top half with a metallic shell and the bottom a textured polycarbonate. Build quality is excellent, with tiny seams, a nice fi nish and a well-placed charging port that feels very secure in the chassis. Unfortunately, tolerances at the pod connection are not as impressive, with some movement in the pod that I would not expect to see from Voopoo. This may not be a widespread issue but is worth noting nonetheless. Ease of use is always vital with these kits and Voopoo has ensured that the Find S Trio is as simple as it gets. There is just one button, which powers the device on/off and also acts as a fi ring button when powered up. There are no adjustable voltage settings and the LED strip surrounding the single button shows the battery charge level. Coils are installed and removed in a plug-and-play style, secured by O-rings. This makes life easy and also ensures that new users aren’t foiled by cross-threading or mis-seating their coils, which is a common cause of leaking and flooding in some starter kits. What about performance? At the time of writing, there are two coil varieties for the Find S Trio. The fi rst is a 1.2Ohm ceramic round wire head, which provides a moderately tight MTL draw, with warm vapour and great flavour production for a pod AIO system. The second coil is a 0.8Ohm mesh affair and whilst it does open the airflow slightly, it still provides a loose MTL or very restricted lung hit PROS - Flavourful coils - Great battery life - Coil longevity 208 VM25 CONS - Some play in pod connection draw. Using the 0.8Ohm coil results in a marginally warmer vape, with more vapour production and slightly improved flavour, but it’s not a huge step up from the more traditional MTL option. Either of these is a good choice, so it’s going to come down to airflow preference and I found coil longevity to be great in both cases, running at least 25ml of moderately-sweet nicotine salt e-liquid through each before they declined substantially. The 1200mAh internal cell is larger than many other similar systems on the market and gives great battery life - I was easily able to get a full day’s vaping out of one charge, when fi lled with 20mg/ml nicotine salt e-liquid. The Find S Trio charges from flat to full in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, which is well within acceptable limits considering the run time. Voopoo has done a great job with the Find S Trio. The only wobble here is the movement in the pod section but this does not affect performance or seriously impact user experience. The coils are flavourful, have good longevity and when paired with a larger-than- average internal cell, make for a device that is reliable as a daily carry. One of the better AIO systems to launch this year.
