N F R E HOBBYIST CORNER H WORTH THE Hype? w Welcome to Worth The Hype? – The feature were we get our hands on some vaping products that are heavily praised by the online community, but not often found in vape shops. In this issue, we’re covering some highly sought after American e-liquids. Kite in Cloud – Lenola Cream Ripe Vapes – VCT Private Reserve VG/PG Ratio: 70/30 VG/PG Ratio: 60/40 Additional sweetener: Minimal Additional sweetener: Minimal Throat hit: Mild Throat hit: Mild Lenola Cream is described as bananas, pies, fruit medley tastes, and creaminess for miles by manufacturers Kite in Cloud. Upon release in 2016, it was the only flavour they offered and it was an instant hit, so much so, that it was often hard to come by. If you’ve been vaping a while, chances are you’ve tried, or at least heard about, Ripe Vape’s VCT. The original is touted as a blend of vanilla custard, fi ne tobacco and toasted almond, which has been met with rabid praise for over fi ve years now. VCT Private Reserve takes an already opulent e-liquid and transforms it into something more likely to be found in Prince Phillip’s whisky cabinet. Private Reserve is made by taking a batch of normal VCT, then steeping it in French oak barrels for three months. The result is an incredibly rich vanilla custard, with a tobacco accent and a moderate helping of toasted almond, fi nished with a hint of dark sweetness that can only be described as what I imagine French oak barrels smell of. Whether it’s the extended steep time or fancy processing, the end product is a very well-developed dessert tobacco that’s quite unlike anything else. Private Reserve costs more than the rest of Ripe Vape’s offerings but that only makes it more alluring as a “special occasion” vape. Hype Certifi ed. Kite in Cloud withdrew from the EU market when the TPD regulations came into force, so we imported some from the USA to taste. Lenola Cream is an enigmatic dessert profile. Banana, cream and pie crust are all there but there is also something else going on to give it a unique flavour. Is it peach? quince? mixed berries? People have long theorised about what’s in the mix but I’m no closer to the truth after having vaped another bottle. Without doubt this is one of the best dessert e-liquids ever made and well worthy of the praise it gets. Hype certified. 232 VM25
