IPHA ZING By Benedict Jones
Specifi cations:
- Dimensions: 108mm*20mm*12mm
- Battery capacity: 350mAh internal cell
- E-liquid capacity: 2ml
- Charging: Micro-USB
Construction, fit and finish of the IPHA Zing is reasonable. The
lightweight aluminium frame and polycarbonate pod are both
sturdy but don’t feel as premium as some of the competition.
Tolerances are on point though, with a rather secure press fit
connection that has absolutely no movement whatsoever.
This is the most basic refillable pod design possible, with draw
activation, no buttons and a simple, removable rubber seal
to accommodate refills. Due to the double port design on the
bottom, there’s plenty of room for air to escape while e-liquid
flows into the pod, so there’s no overflow or airlock issues here.
When it comes to vape quality, the IPHA Zing is a cut above many
other miniature pod systems. The 0.8Ohm pods produce warm
vapour, good clarity of flavour and have a moderately-restricted
MTL draw. I did find that the pods struggled a bit with deeper
dessert and tobacco blends, so bright fruit profiles are likely your
best bet here.
PROS CONS
- Very user friendly - Coil technology could be
improved
198 VM25
Coil longevity falls a bit short of my expectations though, as I
was only able to run 10-15mls of moderately sweet e-liquid
through each pod before performance substantially declined.
Due to the low power output of the device, I recommend high
nicotine strength e-liquids for this device and found that 20mg/
ml nicotine salts with coolant provided a pleasant throat hit.
The 350mAh internal cell performs just as I would usually expect,
lasting approximately half a day on a charge when filled with
20mg/ml e-liquids. The device charges from flat to full in half an
hour though, so this isn’t a huge detriment to the practicality of
daily use.
In summary, the IPHA Zing pod is a competent miniature pod
system that’s very user friendly, though some improvements
could be made to the coil technology in order to increase
longevity and flavour intensity.
