REVIEW BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES The last 12 months have seen a surge of smaller devices. Lost Vape had a massive hit with the Orion. Device Specifications: That release and its well-designed form factor kickstarted the “box pod” trend. The Construction: Stainless steel, resin and polycarbonate Frenzy is Geekvape’s take on this emerging Dimensions: 86.1*37*15.7mm Weight: 98.2g style of device. Battery capacity: 950mAh Construction, fit and finish are excellent. The Frenzy E-liquid capacity: 2ml has a stainless-steel frame, with resin panels and a Power output: 2.5, 2.7, 2.9 adjustable polycarbonate e-liquid cartridge. Although small, this Temperature control: 420, 440, 460F adjustable device has a reassuring heft at 98.2g. The tank/cartridge slides into place smoothly and secured by magnets. The Frenzy is very easy to use. It’s five clicks to turn the device on and off, two to check battery life and three to cycle through three power or temperature settings. The cartridge is filled from two ports on the bottom, allowing air to escape the pod during refills to minimise overflowing or leaking. The Frenzy performs fantastically for its size. The 1.2Ohm SS316L round - Vape quality - Battery life wire coil automatically puts it into temperature control mode, where you can - Build quality choose from 420F, 440F or 460F before power is throttled. - Replaceable coils When temperature control is this simple and consistent, it makes total sense to use it. This prevents burnt coils and allows you to dial-in the heat according to your chosen flavour profile. - Insufficient voltage for I preferred the SS coil set to 460F with the airflow turned to 1/3 open for a warm, flavourful the 0.7Ohm mesh coil and restricted MTL vape. Coil longevity is among best in class, easily lasting 6-8 refills of moderately sweet e-liquid. The 0.7ohm mesh coil puts the Frenzy into variable voltage mode. I found the vape from this coil to be a little cool for my liking, but it still produces acceptable flavour with good longevity. Using nic salts between 15-20mg/ml at the maximum power/temperature settings, I was easily able to get a full day’s use on one charge from the 950mAh cell. The Frenzy will charge from flat to full in just over an hour and allows for vaping during charging. The Geekvape Frenzy is a compelling choice in a crowded market. The use of replaceable coils instead of pods is a consumer-friendly touch that doesn’t go unnoticed and the vape quality of the SS316L is fantastic. The Frenzy has become my pod device of choice and it will take some doing to be replaced. VM23 | 189
