This is a very simple stick device. Just one button powers
the device, cycles through power output settings and fires the
device. The one-button design makes the Solo 2 very beginner
friendly.
The base of the tank is part of the battery section, so you can’t use
other atomisers. However, this isn’t really an issue since the device
is clearly aimed at newer vapers who are less likely to experiment with
hardware options. The coil acts as the chimney section of the tank and
the top assembly comes together very simply.

Baby Beast and tiny in comparison to the Falcon or Mesh Pro fittings. Despite
their smaller size, the inner bore is relatively large, allowing for generous airflow.
This is my only real gripe with the Solo 2. There’s no airflow adjustability. New sub-
ohm vapers will likely want to find what level of direct lung draw suits them. When coupled
with the variable power options, the choice to omit airflow control becomes even more

No airflow control
confusing.
At the full 50W setting, the balance between airflow and warmth is about right. Vapour and
flavour production at this setting is good but not mind-blowing, though it certainly provides a
good introduction to sub-ohm vaping.
Once you turn the power down, though, the excessive airflow results in a lukewarm vape and muted
flavour production. Unfortunately, the lack of airflow ring makes the lower power settings redundant.
However, this could easily be fixed with external rubber airflow control rings in future batches of the Solo 2.
Battery life is commendable. The 3000mAh internal cell should be plenty for most people and is impressive
considering the compact size of the device. I found it to last almost a full day’s use at the full 50W setting.
The Vaptio Solo 2 is a stick-style device that shows promise but would benefit greatly from airflow control. If
this one issue were to be fixed, this would be one of the better entry level sub-ohm devices.
