EVENTS IECIE SHENZHEN ECIG EXPO APRIL 14-16. SHENZHEN CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTER BY PATRICK GRIFFIN navigating around the vast complex. When I entered on the first day, within a couple of seconds I was approached by a very friendly representative from Elego Mall who introduced me to their stand. In the next 20 minutes, another five smiling Elego representatives stopped me with the same request and I eventually lost count of the number of times I was stopped by various exhibitors who wanted me to see their merchandise. The organisers proudly boast that IECIE Shenzhen is the most influential e-cigarette expo in the world and it is easy to see why they are so proud of this event. In fact, there is so much demand to exhibit here that next year’s expo is already almost sold out and the floor space will increase by 50 percent to 60,000 square metres. Because this show is squarely aimed at the business sector it does not need the loud music and endless giveaways which are ubiquitous at shows which are open to the public. It attracts wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, brand owners, importers, exporters and buyers from more than 45 countries and it is always busy from start to finish. The vast halls are reminiscent of a modern airport terminal and the expo itself is clean, bright and well-laid out with lots of manned information points where visitors could ask for help in 154 | VM23
