A Billion Lives documentary director will
confront nicotine myths and explore its
medical potential.
T
he 2016 documentary A Billion Lives helped bring attention
to a shocking statistic: The World Health Organization
(WHO) projected that one billion people would die from smoking
this century.
The film explored the business practices of the tobacco industry,
the methods people use to quit smoking such as e-cigarettes
and snus and the conflicts of interest that may be preventing
more smokers from attempting to quit.
After four years of research, director Aaron Biebert has begun
work on his new documentary, You Don’t Know Nicotine. The
project is the most backed Kickstarter film in Wisconsin history,
the US state which Biebert hails from.
