REVIEWS REVIEW BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES Wismec have become one of the biggest players in the affordable hardware market, originally making their name with the now iconic Releaux series of devices. The Sinuous line-up has always had a clear focus on industrial design and great performance, so is the V80 a worthy addition? Sinuous V80 Specifications: Dimensions: 27 x 34 x 81mm Materials: Polycarbonate + stainless steel Power output: 1-80W Battery capacity: 1x 18650 cell Amor NSE Tank Specifications: Dimensions: 26 x 46mm Materials: Polycarbonate + stainless steel E-liquid capacity: 3ml or 2ml TPD edition - Good build quality - Versatile tank - Great form factor - Fit, finish and construction are fantastic, especially when you consider the device’s affordable price point. Everything here feels very solid despite the polycarbonate chassis and the entire mod is rattle free. The bottom loading battery door feels very firm, with great tolerances, so it’s secure when closed but opens when you want it to, without any issue. I have to mention the ergonomics of the V80, because they’re great too. This really is a tiny mod and the semi-transparent chassis shows that the internals are about as efficiently organised as it gets, with the chipset only a few millimetres away from the battery housing. With the cleverly centred 510 connection, this results in a very comfortable and compact mod that fits into pockets or small bags with ease, whilst retaining the ability to support large atomisers with no overhang. The chipset here is relatively basic, but it performs very well indeed. Wattage, bypass, temperature control and memory banks are all on offer here, so the majority of vapers should Polycarbonate tank be covered. Power delivery is instant and stable regardless of wattage, which is really nice to section see in a budget device. Even at the higher end of the chip’s capabilities, I found output to have no delay whatsoever, which is more than can be said for many single cell devices, that struggle to achieve their stated wattages. The Amor NSE tank is a great pairing with this device and solidifies the V80 kit as a compelling choice for any beginner-intermediate vaper. The tank section is made from polycarbonate, so you may have to be cautious about heavy tank cracking juices, but other than this consideration the NSE feels well put together. It has a simple sliding top fill with a single port that’s large enough to stop e-liquid from overflowing during re-fills. The airflow selection reveals just how versatile this tank is. There’s a single large cyclops inlet for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping and two smaller individual holes for a restricted mouth-to-lung (MTL) experience. The kit comes supplied with two coils that perform very differently from one another. The first is a 0.27Ohm mesh coil rated for 35-45W. Despite being a lower power mesh coil, it packs a serious punch in the flavour department and also provides respectable vapour output. The second coil is a 1.3Ohm round wire build, designed for low wattage MTL vaping. At 13W with a single hole open, this provides a smooth and flavourful MTL vape with moderate warmth. Closing the airflow down further increases warmth and flavour output and personally that’s where this coil shines for me. Wismec have absolutely knocked it out of the park with the V80 kit. 164 | VM22
