REVIEWS REVIEW BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES LUNATICS GAL CRAZY PINEAPPLE VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling MAD GRAPE VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling SWEET & SOUR MANGO VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling Crazy Pineapple is the last of the Lunatics Gal range that I have sampled for review. Again, this is a stripped back fruit profile, but that doesn’t mean it’s bland. This has got to be one of the most potent pineapple flavours I’ve had the pleasure of vaping. Predominantly this comes across as a pineapple soda, which brings plenty of bright sweetness to the profile. There are hints of a more natural fruit, though, and when vaped for a while, some fleshy, tropical notes will become more apparent. In a similar vein to Sweet & Sour Mango, there is a sour tang to the pineapple here, which is quite pleasant and prevents this flavour from becoming too one dimensional. As with the other Lunatics Gal offerings, Crazy Pineapple is finished with a mild coolant, which doesn’t interfere with the flavour profile at all. Described as a blend of grape and berries, Mad Grape is another simple profile from the Lunatics Gal range. The top note here is a sweet dark grape. Rather than coming across as a candied Concord grape, this is more similar to a grape juice. It’s not often that we find this kind of grape flavour in e-liquid, so this definitely sets Mad Grape apart from its peers. The grape top note is contrasted by a much brighter berry medley. This gives a substantial boost to the overall sweetness of the profile, along with some tartness. The berry medley seems to mostly comprise of candy raspberry, but there’s certainly some other fruity accents here too. This makes for a vivid and rather sweet fruit blend that should be a crowd pleaser. The profile is finished with a mild coolant, which stops the sweeter elements from becoming cloying. Sweet & Sour Mango, from the Lunatics Gal range is a Malaysian e-liquid, soon to be hitting shelves across Europe. Mango is perhaps the first profile we associate with the far eastern vaping community, so how does this one compare? As you might hope for, this is a vivid and authentic mango blend. Although a very simple mix, there is a lot of bright, tropical sweetness on display here. The mango is ripe and perhaps verging on overripe, which is actually a desirable trait for many vapers. In addition to the mango note, there is also a sour accent, which is difficult to pinpoint. It could be a subtle citrus, or a different variety of mango, but in any case, it adds an interesting tang to the profile. The mix is finished with a mild, flavourless coolant, a signature of Malaysian mixology. A simple but well executed vape. MAD BOYS LYCHEE HONEYDEW VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling PINEAPPLE BLACKCURRANT VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling MANGO LYCHEE VG/PG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling We’ve come to expect exotic profiles from Malaysian e-liquid makers, and Lychee Honeydew from the Mad Boys range is no exception. Honeydew is the more prominent note here, and it’s been recreated in a very authentic fashion. It brings a substantial sweetness to the mix, along with a very subtle creaminess that is found in the real fruit. This is one of the most accurate renditions of Honeydew that I’ve personally vaped. This main note is contrasted with a moderately strong lychee element. Lychee isn’t a flavour often found in vaping and is rarely done well. In this case, it’s been blended masterfully, and again tastes very true to life. It brings some sweetness to the mix, along with distinctive floral notes that make for a unique experience. The mix is finished with Vape Syndrome’s signature mild coolant. Lychee Honeydew is a great choice for more adventurous vapers. Another bold, fruity blend from Vape Syndrome. Although quite balanced in potency, the Blackcurrant element of this mix comes out on top for me. It’s a touch sweeter than the blackcurrant found in most western e-liquid profiles, but it still retains traces of the dark sweetness of the real fruit, despite being a more candied portrayal. This is contrasted with a bright pineapple note that is quite similar to what is found in the Lunatics Gal Crazy Pineapple profile, albeit with more of a natural connotation. There’s slightly more of the sharpness found in the real fruit and less of a sweet soda pineapple in this case and it works well to cut through the heavier blackcurrant notes. The mix is finished with a mild coolant, making for a simple but refreshing fruit vape. Mango Lychee is perhaps the most exotic profile from Vape Syndrome, which is saying something considering how bold their other flavours are. The mango here is quite different from that found in Lunatics Gal Sweet & Sour Mango. Where that was a bright and mildly sour mix, this mango has more of the earthy and slightly musky notes, indicative of a different variety. It still brings plenty of sweetness to the mix but has an overall deeper flavour. This is paired nicely with the same lychee note found in Mad Boys Lychee Honeydew. It brings the same distinctive floral sweetness to this blend and is a perfect contrast to the heavier mango notes. The mix is again finished with a mild coolant, which cuts through the sweetness of the mix. Mango Lychee is a great choice for any fruit fan looking for something unique. 190 | VM21
