REVIEW BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES BLUEBERRY PANCAKE VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild VANILLA CREAM TOBACCO VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild RED AIR VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling Attempting to capture this classic American breakfast profile in e-liquid form is no easy feat, so have Dainty’s managed it here? The top note is a warm, baked blueberry. It brings plenty of sweetness to the blend and is very accurate to its real-life counterpart. This is noteworthy, as many times attempts at baked blueberry simply taste candied. This is accented with a strong maple syrup note, which further boosts the sweetness on offer, and adds a pleasant sticky body to the mix. The profile is finished with a bakery base, and although it is rather nice, I’m not sure that I would pick it out as pancake specifically. This is a well-rounded, if quite sweet, dessert vape that should please many. At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this is an RY4 style blend. RY4 has become a staple of vaping by balancing caramel, vanilla and mild tobacco, but this offering from Dainty’s takes a different approach. This is much more tobacco forward than most dessert tobacco blends, with a strong nutty top note and plenty of dark sweetness. This tobacco element is complemented by a thick creamy base which adds plenty of body to the mix, and also gives a good boost to the overall sweetness of the profile. A good choice for tobacco vapers who wish to try something a little different. Red Air is clearly based on the ever popular Red Astaire flavour profile, which has a loyal following in the UK. Dainty’s rendition doesn’t attempt to reinvent the wheel here, with a strong mix of candied raspberry and grape taking centre stage. This is a classic pairing at this point, and I’m happy to say that it has been balanced well in this case. These top notes are accented by a very mild aniseed, which keeps things interesting without becoming overbearing. The blend is finished with a moderate dose of menthol that helps to lift the recipe and cuts through the sweeter fruit components. A tried and tested profile that has been well executed. RASPBERRY SHERBET VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild BUBBLEGUM BLAST VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling A simple blend from the Dainty’s line. The top note here is candied raspberry. It’s a fair bit softer than what is normally found in raspberry e-liquids, but some vapers may prefer this omission of the bright and sharp notes. The top note also lends a somewhat sticky mouthfeel, which is true to the confectionery that this blend takes inspiration from. A moderately strong citrus cuts through the top note and provides some contrast in the profile. This adds some of the sharpness that you might usually expect from raspberry and the result is a fairly convincing sherbet flavour. Bubblegum flavours have seen a huge surge in popularity over the last 18 months or so, and this is Dainty’s take on the profile. The top note here is a very pronounced bubblegum, reminiscent of the kind found at the centre of hard candy. This is complemented by a softer candy blueberry flavour which helps boost the sweetness of the profile and stops it from becoming one dimensional. The blend is finished by a rather intense blast of menthol additive, which is sure to please vapers looking for a bold fruity vape. VM21 | 187
