Vapouround magazine ISSUE 20 | Page 6

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as I’m writing this editor’s letter. The Vaper Expo is behind us, it’s dark at 4pm and there’s a whole new year ahead of us. This has been quite the year for vaping with significant developments. I won’t dwell on Brexit or the state of affairs in the US, you can read more about both topics further into the issue. Instead, let’s focus on the positives. This year, the UK’s Science and Technology Committee heaped praise on e-cigarettes, calling vaping a ‘weapon’ for good against smoking. Róisín Delaney - The Editor [email protected] VAPOUROUND MPs at Westminster then said employers should develop policies that encourage smokers to switch to vaping, opening the doors to vaping becoming more commonplace in offices across the UK. Perhaps that’s something to look forward to in 2019. Overall, 2018 was a good news story for the industry with everything pointing in the right direction towards progress. It’s been a massive year for Vapouround too and we’ve learnt a lot in the last 12 months. It’s mind boggling to think of the airmiles the team has racked up. We also launched two new magazines in Canada and Spain. And over the summer months we launched the Vapouround Club #jointheclub As 2019 rolls around, we’re gearing up for the fourth annual Vapouround Awards night. We’re delighted to have Vape Dinner Lady as official sponsors to this prestigious event. Don’t forget to enter, vote and grab your tickets while you still can! Go to Vapouroundawards.co.uk for details. Unfortunately, 2018 drew to a sad end here at Vapouround HQ. The same week we were preparing to send this issue to press, we lost a valued team member Rob Kokiet, RIP. Rob was our jack of all trades and he’ll be dearly missed. From all of us to all of you, have a safe and wonderful festive period. We’ll see you all in spring!
