Is vaping vitamins a thing?
By Richard Cunningham, PhD
Recently there has been talk online about vaping vitamins. There
have even been several manufacturers promoting vitamins for
vaping, although under the TPD, the addition or combination of
vitamins is prohibited with any tobacco product.
These types of devices offer e-liquids loaded with vitamins,
such as B12 to vape rather than nicotine and flavourings.
In a vape, when a coil heats up it causes the liquids absorbed
into the wick, such as nicotine, propylene glycol and vegetable
glycerin to form a vapour that can then be inhaled.
One of the issues with vitamins is that many are
not thermally stable, and as such under the vaping
process, there will be some decomposition to
potentially harmful side products.
