THE VAPOUROUND BUS ARRIVED IN DUDLEY FOR THE START OF A FOUR-DAY MINI TOUR
Freshly renovated and kitted out with state-ofthe-art vaping and entertainment equipment , the Vapouround Bus arrived in Dudley for the start of a four-day mini-tour , before it would snake down through London and the southeast . Much like the rain , the locals came out in force . One of our first customers of the day was Robert , a former vaper . Since losing his mod he ’ d slipped back into bad habits and was now backto smoking 15 cigarettes a day . But bus manager Reuben was on-hand to suggest a suitable replacement that wouldn ’ t break the bank and Robert left , promising to drop by his local shop to try it out . While we were sheltered from the elements , the nearby army reservists huddled beneath their rickety marquee weren ’ t so fortunate . One ofthe lads , Tom , popped his head in the door before coming in to check out thebus interiors . Like Robert before him , Tom was a lapsed vaper curious to see whether we could help him get back on the wagon . “ I tried vaping a few years ago , but I wasn ’ t convinced ,” he said . We explained that vaping has come a long way in the intervening years , which was enough to convince him to exchange his cigarettes for a free pod device . Unsurprisingly , committed vapers far outweighed those who wereyet to completely make the switch . Two ardent vapers came to get a sneak peakat the bus before Vaper Expo UK the following weekend . Karl was particularly impressed . “ Wow ! Is that a SNES ? I haven ’ t played on one of those in years ! I ’ ll definitely give that a battering at the expo .” As always , the vape box got a lot of use throughout the day . Bus driver Stu made the switch to vaping three years ago and had since developed ataste for menthol . With so many options out there , his quest for a new liquidwas taking its toll but he was very happy with the selection of liquids on board the bus and it is fair to say that we found another convert . Later in the afternoon , I headed upstairs , expecting to see two visitors sampling the various liquids in the vape box . Instead , I was met withwhat could only be described as a mini rave . ‘ Dance like no one is watching ’, as they say , and the dancing duo barely acknowledged my presence as they busted out some moves to the music pumping through the crisp new sound system . And so , having helped smokers make the switch and pulling formervapers back into the fold plus entertaining many inquisitive locals , the day drew to a close and it was a massive success .
