The UK’s latest stop smoking stats
paint a positive picture
Almost one hundred thousand people successfully quit smoking
after just four weeks, that’s according to the latest quarterly
report from the NHS Stop Smoking Service.
The report, which tallied cessation in England from April to
December 2017, shows that 97,613 people (50 percent)
successfully quit smoking after the short period.
The statistics contain details on 195,762 people who self-
reported and had set a pre-planned four week quit date, who
successfully kicked the habit through the specific methods
provided by the NHS service.
Seventy-two percent of participants had their results confirmed
by Carbon Monoxide verification.
