How has your e-liquid offering changed over
the years?
We were one of the first to market with UK-made e-liquids, which
was a big deal back in 2010 - now all of our e-liquid is
manufactured in the UK.
We’ve always had our e-liquid tested at source and in
independent labs, so we are pleased that the TPD means
that all e-liquid sold must be of the same high standards,
this is actually a major plus for the customer as a result of the
TPD (I know we all like to slate it, but production standards
are a good thing).
We have an in-house flavour guru who creates recipes for us
and sees through the manufacturing process. We all enjoy
testing days. We started with 1 range and we currently sell
6 ranges, consisting of: Standard, Premium, picNIC Easy
Mix, Clear Steam Vapourless and 2 x Gourmet liquid ranges:
Liquid Zwo (PG/VG 50/50) and, brand new for summer
2017 – Bryn’s Special Sauce (High VG) – this is a really
exciting range and the flavours really are something else.
In total we have about 80 flavours to offer vapers across our
ranges (with 100 more being added to picNIC later this year),
whether they prefer high VG, High PG or 50/50.
What do you think about the innovation in
e-liquids over the past few years?
Our industry is amazing for innovation and it’s a really
exciting time for new e-liquid flavours, you only have
to check out Instagram to see how many interesting new
brands are emerging, almost weekly.
Obviously there has been a surge in liquids in the 3/6mg
High VG area over the past couple of years to support
sub-ohm vapers.
We think there is a place for crazy flavours as well as more
standard flavours – our Standard and Premium ranges really
‘do what they say on the tin’ – the flavour inside is exactly the
same as the name on the bottle suggests. No guessing, just
straight up great quality flavour delivered as stated.
Our Gourmet ranges and picNIC flavours are more complex
and come complete with some interesting names; We’ve
just added 12 new flavours to our picNIC range and
they span from Tropicapple and Cherry Rubus to Tart
Fuzz and Heisenbergerest.
Liquid Zwo has Snake Kiss and Kitten’s Breath whilst Bryn’s
Special Sauce comes in Papricot Custard, Te and Sour Blue
Raspberry.
Sometimes with new e-liquids on the market the packaging
can be more interesting than the actual flavour.
At our heart, we really only care about flavour. Smart boxes
and bottles are a plus but nothing beats a flavour that stops
you in your tracks.
Where do you see the progression of e-liquid?
I think if we all keep innovating we’ll start to see even more
complex flavour combinations and ‘E-liquid mixologist’
will become a job title in its own right. It really is a skill to
mix a great tasting e-liquid and should be recognised.
Oh, and we’ll continue to keep adding great new flavours to
our ranges to ensure we don’t stand still.
