Voltage – The amount of kinetic energy which, when paired with resistance, creates wattage. Vooping – The act of vaping while defecating. VV (Variable Voltage) – Any PV, APV, or mod that allows the user control over the voltage output of their device. VV Mod – A variable voltage mod which usually has a removable battery and boosted supply. You can change the voltage to find your vaping sweet spot. VW (Variable Wattage) – Any PV, APV, or mod that allows the user control over the wattage output of their device across the atomizer coil. This differentiates itself from a VV device because the voltage is calculated to arrive at the set wattage. W Watt (wattage) – The amount of heat that the atomizer coil uses to vaporize the e-liquid. Wick – Wicks are used to deliver e-liquid to the coil in electronic cigarettes. Most atomizers use wicks that are most commonly made from silica cord but wicks can also be made from rolled up steel mesh, fibreglass, cotton, and sometimes ceramic materials. Wicking – The process of osmosis where more concentrated fluid moves to an area of lesser concentration in an effort to find equilibrium. Wire – Generally refers to resistance wire used in building coils for atomizers. Woody (Wood Mod) – Any PV or APV that is handmade and fitted inside a wooden tube or box. Wrap – One revolution of a wire during the process of building coils. Wrap refers to the process of “wrapping” a wire around a tool, usually a drill bit or screwdriver. WTA - Whole tobacco alkaloids, a term used to refer to compounds additional to nicotine that may play a part in the effects produced by tobacco consumption. WTAs include nornicotine, anabasine, anatabine and myosmine. It is possible to get e-liquids containing WTAs but such liquids are not very common. X FYI Xtreme Vaping Devices - OK so we cheated a little bit here and left out the initial ‘e’ in extreme. Extreme vaping devices which are the devices operating at coil resistances of under one ohm which are particularly well suited to cloud chasing as, when combined with the right e-liquids and breathing techniques, can produce super huge vapour clouds. Y Why Vape? - We don’t have a ‘y” for vaping terms here but every vaper will have an answer to the question “Why vape?” There are many possible answers but the most common one we hear all the time is “Because it is the only thing which has successfully allowed me to quit smoking.” Z Zero Nicotine - E-liquid can come in various nicotine strengths or it may contain no nicotine at all. E-liquid without nicotine are called zero nicotine e-liquid. While a most vapers enjoy their nicotine hit others do not always want nicotine in their juice. For example, vapers who take part in competitive events such as cloud chasing may choose a zero nicotine liquid as a matter of choice. Numbers 18350 – A battery that is 18mm in diameter and 35mm long. 18650 – A battery that is 18mm in diameter and 65mm long. 26650 – A battery that is 26mm in diameter and 65mm long. 306 (aka LR306) – Just one of many styles of atomizers available. It is a 510 threaded atomizer with low resistance. Many 510 users use LR306 atomizers on their batteries because it gives more vapor production and better throat hit. 401, 402, and 403 – Refers to the different length of this specific electronic cigarette. They are known as m401, m402, and m403. 510 – The most popular and common style of threading for electronic cigarettes available. Originally developed by the company JoyE, it quickly became the standard within the industry. 808 or KR808 – One of many styles of electronic cigarettes available. 901– An atomizer with a female thread. it is not compatible with 510 threading. 2-piece – A two-part electronic cigarette consisting of a battery and a cartomizer. 3-piece – A three-part electronic cigarette consisting of a battery, atomizer and cartridge.
