The vaping industry is often seen as
predominantly male-dominated with
the role of women confined to being
‘eye-candy’ at shows and expos.
However if you think that this is all that
women can contribute to the world of
vaping then you would be very much
mistaken. It is true that women can
work as vape models, or “juice bitches”
as they are sometimes called, but the
story of women and vaping does not end
there. Here we talk to Laura Riggs, one
of the co-owners at Flavor Monster, who
encourages women to play a pivotal role
within her business.
VAPOUROUND MAGAZINE: How are
Flavor Monster striving to cater for
women in the vaping industry?
LAURA: At Flavor Monster we are
empowering women to be successful in
the vaping industry. Our head mixologist
is a woman, our Director of Marketing
is a woman, our retail manager is a
woman, and the list goes on. We want
women to know that they have a place in
this industry and not just as a consumer.
There are plenty of high level jobs that
are done best by women and we are the
working model of this.
VM: What do you think about women
in the vaping industry?
LAURA: I love seeing strong powerful
women in vaping! I understand that T&A

(tits & ass) has ruled our predominantly
male-dominated industry and that’s why
women are objectified like they are. I feel
like they don’t have to be. I think that
some of the best companies use smart
marketing that appeals to everyone
and not just the 18 year old bro. I think
that women have the power to change
the industry, (I don’t mean make it all
sunshine and rainbows) women are
smart and have great ideas when it
comes to marketing and advertising.

We need more women who want to
innovate the industry and really make
it an all-inclusive industry and less
about “my buddies girl vapes because
he does.” There are plenty of female
smokers out there who want to make
the switch but feel like it’s just like the
car industry and that no one will take
them seriously. I’m here to tell them
