FYI were really happy that it went as well as it did. We had a huge amount of support from Illpluminati, 9 South Vapes and UK/USA E-liquids, who are the sponsors of the main competitions. We also had special appearances from some of the Vgod trick team, 7 Sins Vape Co, Inspector 11 Vapes and, of course, Vapouround! KEV: We would like to thank everyone who made the night special for us. Andrew at Starlight Whiting did an amazing job with the lasers and lighting effects. Thanks to Slammermods for the custom Noisy Cricket in the big raffle, Rob Dawe Fowler for the stunning photos, and Ray at Patchway Sports and Social Club for providing the venue and all his help on the night. Of course this wouldn’t have been possible without #nuclearfam, so a massive THANK YOU for helping us set everything up. VM: Do you recall your first customer? BOTH: We remember our first customer well, and even what he bought! His name is Kieran, he came in and bought a bottle of Cottontail Cream by Lost Art Liquids, and stayed for the free coffee and cake. He is now a full time member of the #nuclearfam. VM: Nuclear Vapours has been described as being a place which has real community spirit; how did you achieve this and how do you foster good client relations? BOTH: Superb customer service and inclusivity is key to maintaining great relationships. We treat everyone the same, whether they are on a pen style device, mechanical mod, starter or cloud chaser. VM: How do you want a Nuclear Vapours customer to feel when they step into your store? BOTH: Comfortable! It’s important that a customer doesn’t feel pressured to buy anything, and that they have honest advice and the time to make the right decision for them. EM: It was especially important to me that we made Nuclear Vapours a place where women could come in and feel comfortable. One of my main issues when I went to vape shops was being ignored in favour of Kev, or talked down to. That never happens here, and I think that shows in our huge female customer base. VM: How did your Thursday night Vape Meets come about? EM: A chilled out place where you can meet and chat to like-minded people was what we wanted to create. We have made some great friends through our vape nights, and it’s how the #nuclearfam was born. Vape Meet attendees are a diverse bunch with ages ranging from 19 years to 45 years. Everyone is made to feel welcome, and a space is made for them on the sofa. KEV: Our vape nights are loads of fun! A lot of the time it’s just general chat and having a laugh, with people doing tricks. Sometimes we have competitions running. And occasionally we break the projector and games console out and have a game or movie night. VM: What does the future hold for Nuclear Vapours in the next 5 years? Any exciting plans we need to be made aware of? KEV: We are always expanding our ranges, and this will continue. We’d love another shop at some point soon. And – yes, there will be another Nuclear Meltdown! EM: We would also like to say a massive thanks to Ria, Paul and everyone at Vapouround. You guys have supported us since the beginning, and we’ve been lucky enough to feature in several issues. It is mutual support like this that makes our industry great, and it’s what will help us through these uncertain times of TPD regulations, so thank you. We’ve had an incredible first year, and here’s to many more! To find out more about Nuclear Vapours, please go to their Facebook page – facebook.com/nuclearvapours/.
