Nora absolutely loves animals, her eyes light up when she sees
a dog or cat. Fortunately, Nora has remained pretty healthy.
She sees her CF doctor every 3 months for routine checkups,
each time she goes they swab her throat for harmful bacteria.
Nora has had 5 swabs to date with only one coming back with
harmful bacteria. She’s started using an airway clearance
machine (referred to as a vest).
It vibrates her chest and back to break up any mucus making
it easier for her to breathe. Nora is also pancreatic insufficient,
which means that her body doesn’t absorb the nutrients from
food like any other person.
She now takes enzymes with every meal so that her body
retains the good nutrients it needs.
Currently all treatments are considered preventative, Nora has
not had to undergo anything surgical to date. We at Diamond
Vapor are extremely proud of Nora and her progress.
